Help us topple the Man!

Fundraising is a challenge for all non-profit organizations, but it is especially difficult for groups such as CounterCorp that refuse to accept corporate funding ... and yet another indication of the degree to which corporations have come to dominate our society.

CounterCorp is an all-volunteer organizationall of the money we raise goes to cover the costs of the film festival.

In the absence of corporate funding, we rely instead on community-based sources of support, including:

•  Donations from members of the public Jump to Donations section

•  Events such as film screenings Jump to Events page

•  Sales of DVDs and books

•  Sponsorships by collectives and small businesses Jump down to Sponsorships section

•  Ticket sales before and during the festival

•  Collaboration
with other non-profit groups

•  Grants from progressive foundations

Donations

Donations can take many forms — contributing money, offering "in-kind" materials and services, and volunteering your time, skills, and experience.

You can donate online through the website of our non-profit fiscal agent, Independent Arts & Media. Just select CounterCorp from the drop-down menu where it says, "Please direct my contribution to..."

If you'd prefer to make a series of smaller donations, you can choose to have a small amount deducted from your credit card every month. Most people find they don't even notice a monthly contribution of $5 (the cost of a beer or glass of wine at a bar) or $10 (lunch at a restaurant), but collectively these donations provide CounterCorp with a steady source of support that lets us focus on organizing.

If you'd rather donate by mail, you can send contributions in any amount (made out to "CounterCorp") to:

CounterCorp Film Festival
2017 Mission Street, #305
San Francisco, CA  94110

If you'd prefer to donate materials or services instead of money, send an e-mail to donations@countercorp.org and let us know what you'd like to offer. If it's something we can use, we'll gladly give you a receipt that you can use to deduct the value of your donation from your taxes.

Or if you'd rather donate your time or knowledge by volunteering to help organize the film festival, help us with outreach, or otherwise improve CounterCorp's operations, send an e-mail with a description of your skills, interests, and availability to volunteers@countercorp.org.

And if you don't have time to volunteer on a regular basis, you can still support the festival by helping us spread the word about it to your friends and colleagues, and sending us your suggestions for films, speakers, and events.

Sponsorships

CounterCorp supports other non-profit organizations, worker-owned and collective enterprises, and small businesses as community-based alternatives to the current unsustainable and anti-social corporate model.

Non-profit organizations that would like to collaborate with CounterCorp to advance their missions — or worker-run and local small businesses that would like to support CounterCorp in exchange for recognition and other benefits — should e-mail sponsorships@countercorp.org for information on opportunities to get involved in the festival.

Donations to CounterCorp are tax-deductible
